Sunday flags

Für meinen Flaggenquilt habe ich endlich einen Stoff für die Einfassung gefunden. Sodann wurden einige Meter Schrägband gebügelt und nun bin ich dabei dieses Stück für Stück anzunähen, von Hand. Die Hälfte ist geschafft.

I finally found a matching fabric for the border of my flag quilt. I immediately ironed a few meters of bias band and now I'm about to fix it to the outer edge, bit by bit and by hand. Done with about half of it.

In der letzten Woche war ich aber auch nicht untätig und habe meine Stoffsammlung um einige Schätzchen vergrößert. Sowohl Second-Hand-Stoffe, als auch Zeug aus dem Stoffladen. Hab zu Weihnachten einen kleinen Gutschein bekommen. :) Sieht ein bisschen langweilig aus, schließt aber Lücken. Zuoberst liegt der Schrägbandstoff.

This last week I also bought some new fabrics to enlarge my stash. Fabrics from the thrift store as well as the fabric store. Got a little gift certificate for Christmas. :) It looks a bit boring on the picture, but it helps to close gaps. On top you see the bias band fabric.

Ich hatte ja erwähnt, dass ich schon so eine ähnliche Augenbrosche gekauft habe. Hier ist sie. :)

Ist natürlich kein Silber. Die Hand der Fatima stell ich mir aber z.B. schön vor, wenn man sie lackiert.

Diese Skull-Ohrhänger hab ich schon in schwarz, bin zwar allergisch dagegen, aber nen halben Tag lassen die sich durchaus mal tragen. ^^ Vielleicht bestell ich auch einfach mal nen Satz silberne Ohrhaken und tausch die aus. Jedenfalls sind die Dinger jetzt gerade drastisch runtergesetzt und ich nehm das mal zum Anlass sie mir auch in zwei anderen Farben zu bestellen.

Those skull hangers I already own in black. I am slightly allergic to the material, but it's possible to wear them half a day. ^^ Maybe I just order a few real silver ear hooks and just change them. Anyway - right now you get a huge discount on them and I just decided to order them in two more colors as.

Diese kleine Prayer Box finde ich äußerst niedlich. Man kann sie auch mit einer mit Parfum beträufelten Natursteinperle füllen.

Nun aber mal zurück zu Klamotten.

Von so einem Kleid träume ich schon seit Ewigkeiten, aber leider sind 159 $ einfach nicht drin. Ich hatte schon mal versucht das Motiv mehrfarbig zu stenciln, das sah allerdings nicht so toll aus.

Of this dress I dream for very long. But 159 $ is just too much money, can't afford that. I once tried to stencil this motive with three colors, but it didn't really look good.

Die Tasche ist einfach cool (auch wenn ich kein Misfits-Fan bin), und man könnte sie so einfach selbst machen!

Auf dem WGT werde ich höchstwahrscheinlich auch zum Foren-CT gehen. Wäre es nicht ein Traum an diesem Tag ein Hexagonkleid zu tragen? In angeglichenen Farben natürlich. Aber ist das Teil nicht einfach der Hammer?

Und aller klassisch-schwarzer Einheit zum Trotz: ich brauche eine Regenbogenflagge. Auch in diesem Jahr wird es hier wieder eine West Pride Parade geben und ich war so schrecklich unvorbereitet letztes Jahr. Eine Flagge für die Tasche wär toll, zumal ich diese Farbigkeit neonleuchtenden Netzstrumpfhosen und Cyber Loxx entschieden vorziehe.

And I'm afraid I need a rainbow flag this year. I rather enjoy this kind of 'happy colors' pinned to my bag than neonpink fish-net stockings or Cyber Loxx. There will also be a West Pride Parade again this year and in 2013 I was so darn unprepared.

Color the world

Für mehr bunte Momente in deinem Leben: das Federmäppchen im Stifte-Design. Die Idee hab ich ohne Skrupel von Pinterest geklaut. Bei dieser Paper-Piecing-Vorlage finde ich nur blöd, dass da an der einen Stelle zu viele Nähte aufeinander treffen und es nen ziemlichen Knubbel gibt. Aber ansonsten ist das ein tolles, kleines Projekt und schnell fertig!

For more colorful moments in your life: the pencil case in pencil design. The idea I stole ruthlessly from Pinterest. The only thing I don't like about this pattern is that so many seams meat and this one point and that makes a pretty ugly knob. But besides that it's a great, small project!

- Wegen akuten Festivalbedarfs aufgeschoben -

Es wäre ja theoretisch die beste Gelegenheit sich an das Projekt "Zweites Kind" heranzuwagen. Und wir sind auch schon fleißig dabei. Aber ich habe so das Gefühl mein Körper mag sich darauf nicht einlassen, so als wolle er sagen: "Nee Schätzchen, du brauchst erstmal noch ne gehörige Portion Spaß, bevor du dich komplett versklaven lässt durch 2 Kinder, Ehe und Haushalt." Man soll ja immer auf seinen Körper hören, nicht wahr? :D

Also gibts jetzt doch wieder Safer Sex, zumindest bis Juni, damit ich mich auf dem WGT anständig austoben kann. Ja, wir haben beschlossen zum WGT zu gehen! *GAAH!*

2011 waren wir zu zweieinhalbt dort, 2012 war der Mini noch zu klein, um ihn bei Oma und Opa zu lassen und letztes Jahr wär ich so gern gegangen (Karin Park! ♥ ), aber da hatten wir einfach zu viel mit der Hochzeit zu tun. Nun hat Herr H. jedenfalls beschlossen, dass ich diesen kleinen Urlaub unbedingt brauche, auch wenn wir dafür eigentlich kein Geld haben - und auch dafür liebe ich ihn. ♥ ♥ ♥

Mein über alles geschätzter Gatte gehört ja nun eigentlich nicht auf dieses Festival, auch wenn das Festival 2010 den entscheidenden Grundstein für unsere Beziehung gelegt hat. Er wird also nur in Jeans und einem - wenn ich Glück habe - schwarzen Shirt durch die Gegend rennen und da mag ich daneben nicht nach Fasching aussehen, mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass ich mich darin auch nicht mehr wohlfühle. 

Ich habe aber schon seit Längerem Bedarf nach ein paar neuen Basics (und sollte wohl gleichzeitig mal meinen Kleiderschrank ausmisten). Also ergab ein kurzes Brainstorming was ich bis Juni aus bevorzugt vorhandenem Material herstellen sollte.

Theoretically it would be the best moment to start with the project "second child". And really tried. But somehow I have the feeling my body doesn't agree, just like it wants to say "Nooooo bitch, you need some fun first before you get totally enslaved by two children and household!" And you should always listen to your body, right? :D

So then we go back to safer sex again, at least until June, so that I can run riot at WGT. Yes, we decided to go to Leipzig again! *YAY!*

In 2011 we were 2 1/2 there, in 2012 the little crab was to small to stay with grandma and grandpa for that long and last year we just had too much to do with our wedding, though it was painful missing it (Karin Park ♥ ). Well, Mr. Ears decided that I need this little vacation, though we don't have money for luxury - and that's also a reason why I love him. ♥ ♥ ♥

My adorable husband is actually no real fan of this festival, though in 2010 it laid the foundation for our relationship. So he will just run around in jeans and a black shirt (if I'm lucky). I don't wanna look like a peacock beside him. That's also not my thing anymore.

But I really long for some new Basics (and should at the same time get rid of some crap in my wardrobe). After a short brainstorm I now know what there is to sew until June.

Ein Fishtail aus simplem Jersey wäre toll. Fishtails sind gewiss keine Alltagskleidung, aber ich mag die Röcke total und ansonsten mach ich mich kaum schick, was ich ab und an schon mal vermisse. Einen Unterrock mit kleinem Petticoat habe ich dafür noch von früheren Festivals und so ein Fishi ist ja schnell genäht.

Basics wie schwarz-grau-gestreifte Kniestrümpfe und ein dünnes Beanie wären zu besorgen. Und eine Pik-Tasche... Die hats mir seit Jahren angetan, ich habe nach wie vor kein Geld (ich hab so eine Tasche bisher nur bei Innocent World gesehen) und auch nach mehreren Versuchen (und obwohl ich ja schon viele auch absonderliche Taschen genäht habe) immer noch keine Ahnung, wie ich so etwas selbst machen könnte. Gnarf.

Außerdem konnte ich mich nun nicht länger zurückhalten und habe angefangen Pullover für einen Katwise-Mantel zu kaufen. Yeah, Sweater Upcycling! Das Tutorial von Katwise hab ich schon, 4 Pullover hab ich gefunden (Second Hand), einen musste ich davon aber schon wieder an Herrn H. abtreten, weil der einfach zu scharf darin aussieht. ^^ Kanns kaum erwarten mit Nähen anzufangen!

Brosche und Kette find ich einfach toll und ich hab da auch schon was besorgt, zeig ich euch demnächst. :)

Die Kois find ich als Motiv einfach nur schön und werde die vielleicht irgendwo draufstenciln, Tasche oder Shirt, mal sehen.

Das war der erste Output, more to come. Es sollen wie gesagt alles auch im Alltag tragbare Klamotten werden (außer dem Fishtail natürlich). Ich habe noch unzählige prall gefüllte Stoffkisten, die mal geleert werden wollen; kanns kaum erwarten damit anzufangen. :)

Wie ists mit euch? Wer wir dieses Jahr in Leipzig dabei sein?

A fishtail made from simple jersey would be great. Sure, fishtails are no every day clothes, but I love them endlessly and I almost never dress up anymore - and I miss that. An underskirt with a small petticoat I still have from former festivals.

Basics like striped stockings and a thin beanie I would have to buy. And a spade bag... I love this little bag for years, but I still have no money (at least not for a fancy bag) and even after several tries still no idea how to make such a bag. And I made a lot of bags before.

Also I couldn't stop myself any longer from buying used sweaters for a Katwise coat. Yeah, sweater upcycling! Katwise's tutorial I already got and I also found 4 matching pullovers, but had to give one away to Mr. Ears, because he simply looked too hot in it. ^^ Can't wait for beginning!

Brooch and necklace are so very beautiful! And I already bought something that I will show you soon. :)

Those kois are such a nice stencil motive, for a bag or a shirt maybe.

Those were my first ideas, more to come. As I mentioned before: it should all be wearable stuff, also for daily use (besides the fishtail of course). I have plenty of well-stocked boxes with fabric that want to be emptied and I can really hardly wait to begin. :)

Für die Katze, die das nicht zu schätzen weiß

Noch bevor wir am Samstag nach Dänemark aufbrachen, habe ich an einem einzigen Abend diese Katzendecke genäht. So einen Farbkreis wollte ich schon immer mal ausprobieren. Der gepiecte Block wurde nur fix auf hellen Fleece gesteppt und komplett mit der Maschine mit gestreiftem Schrägband eingefasst. 

Ich mag die kleine Decke (82 x 82 cm) total - zu dumm nur, dass meine Katze sich nun aus Prinzip NIEMALS drauf setzen wird. ^^

Before we went to Denmark on Saturday I sewed this cat blanket on just one evening. Such a color circle I wanted to try for quite some time. The pieced block was just quickly sewed to the light fleece back and bound with striped bias band, completely by machine.

I really like this small quilt (82 x 82 cm) - too bad that my stubborn cat will never EVER sit down on it. ^^
